Chemical_Metrology_1

In the PT/EQA programmes, the assigned value of an analyte is determined using the high accuracy isotope dilution mass spectrometry (IDMS) technique, whenever possible. IDMS is a primary ratio measurement procedure and is widely used by the international chemical metrology community. The assigned value provided by CML is traceable to the International System of Units (SI) and will have an associated measurement uncertainty. The CML PT and EQA programmes aim to provide metrologically traceable assigned values to the participating laboratories, enabling the laboratories to assess the accuracy and comparability of their test results.
