Forensic Chemistry and Physics Laboratory
The Forensic Chemistry and Physics Laboratory (FCPL) examines a wide range of crime scene evidence for the purpose of establishing potential links between a suspect and the crime. The laboratory has been accredited by the American Society of Crime Lab Directors/Lab Accreditation Board for trace evidence and firearms/toolmarks since June 1996. The Lab's wide-ranging analytical capabilities have practical applications to industrial and commercial needs.
The objective of Forensic Chemistry and Physics Laboratory is to meet the investigative and forensic needs for law enforcement, criminal justice and commercial clients by providing reliable scientific examinations and consultancy for a wide spectrum of physical evidence and materials. We apply scientific principles, techniques and critical thinking to analyse problems, gather scientific data and interpret findings. Our aim in every case is to objectively clarify technical issues and ascertain the truth.
