Analytical Toxicology Division
The Analytical Toxicology Division provides analytical services for the testing of common pharmaceutical drugs and drugs of abuse in biological fluids and tissues. It has been accredited by the American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors / Laboratory Accreditation Board (ASCLD/LAB) since the year 1996.
The Analytical Toxicology Laboratory of the Analytical Toxicology Division is divided into 2 units:
Drug Abuse Testing Unit
The Drug Abuse Testing (DAT) Unit provides analytical services to law enforcement agencies in the analysis of drugs of abuse in urine and hair specimens as listed in the Misuse of Drugs Act.
Clinical and Forensic Toxicology Unit
The Clinical and Forensic Toxicology (CFT) Unit provides analysis of drugs and poisons in biological fluids and tissues in relation to suspected intoxication, poisoning or overdose cases. The Unit also provides services for occupational biological monitoring and workplace drug testing.
