The Applied Sciences Group applies forensic medical, scientific, investigative and analytical expertise to serve the administration of justice and to safeguard public health. The Group consists of the Forensic Medicine Division , Forensic Science Division, Illicit Drugs & Toxicology Division, Pharmaceutical Division, Food Safety Division and Chemical Metrology Division.

• Forensic Medicine

  Forensic medical consultancy services in the examination of Coroner’s cases.

• Forensic Science

  Forensic science service and consultancy for law enforcement agencies, government ministries, private organisations and individuals for criminal investigations and civil disputes.

• Illicit Drugs & Toxicology

  Analytical services on the presence of controlled drugs in seizures, controlled substances in urine submitted by drug enforcement agencies and services in clinical, emergency and forensic toxicology.

• Pharmaceutical Analysis

  Analytical services for the quality and safety of cosmetics, drugs and cigarettes testing

• Food Safety Analysis

  Analytical services for the quality and safety of food and water

• Chemical Metrology

  The Chemical Metrology Division is a new division set up in the Health Sciences Authority. Its objectives are to establish the infrastructure and develop the chemical metrology capabilities in HSA.
