Position:     Blood Inventory Control Officer 
 
Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the daily operations and functions of the inventory management unit in BSG.
  • To perform basic electronic labeling of blood and blood products with a meticulous mind on systematic verification checks prior to distribution.
  • Responsible for the daily segregation, arrangement and management of unlabeled and labeled blood products.
  • To perform daily packing and issuing of blood and blood products in accordance to standard operating procedures and cold chain conditions.
  • To keep up-to-date transaction records of the blood and blood products inventory using the blood bank computer system for electronic issuing and returning of blood and blood products.
  • To perform daily house-keeping and stock checks of the blood and blood products to ensure efficient and well-maintained blood inventory.
  • To perform basic modification procedures to blood products manually and electronically.
  • To handle hospital enquiry and matters relating to blood inventory.
  • To work with hospital porters to ensure cold chain storage conditions are maintained at all times during collection and delivery of blood and blood products to the hospitals.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 GCE 'O' Levels passes
  • Minimum 2 to 3 years working experience in service industry or logistics industry.
  • Able to work as a team player as well as independently;
  • Able to work in a laboratory setting with great awareness of personnel hygiene and quality framework.
  • Able to work in cold environment for the movement of blood and frozen blood components;
  • IT savvy and proficient in the use of basic Microsoft Office applications.
  • Able to work permanent shift duties including Weekends and Afternoon shifts.
