19 Dec 2003: Case reports of leukaemia and myelodysplastic syndrome in healthy donors treated with granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (GCSF)
Recently, the HSA was notified of two cases of healthy donors in Japan who developed haematological disorders at the 1-year follow up after receiving of granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (GCSF) for peripheral blood stem cells transplantation (PBSCT). Physicians are reminded to investigate any baseline haematological abnormalities in the donors.

HSA has recalled all 243 products made by Pan Pharmaceuticals Limited of Australia marketed under 25 brands available locally. During the quality audits of Pan Pharmaceuticals, the Therapeutic Goods Administration, Australia, found serious manufacturing breaches at the company which resulted in quality and safety concerns on the products it manufactures.
