21 Dec 2006: Eptifibatide (Integrilin®) and increased risk of bleeding in impaired renal function | ||
| Recent literature reports suggest an increased risk of bleeding in patients with impaired renal function when administered infusion doses of eptifibatide similar to those in patients with normal renal function. A lower infusion dose of 1mcg/kg/min was to be considered for patients witj creatinine clearance between 30-50 ml/min when used for both acute coronary syndrome and percutaneous coronary intervention. |

| (NSF) following the use of gadolinium-containing agentsThere are 25 case reports of serious and unexpected reactions of nephrogenic fibrosing dermopathy (NFD) and nephrogenic systemic fibrosis (NSF) in association with the use of Omniscan®. Twenty of these were reported in Denmark and five in Austria. All patients who developed NSF/NFD had severely impaired renal function, with the majority receiving dialysis before Omniscan® was administered. |
