09 Feb 2012 to 17 May 2012 Principles of Pharmacogenetics for Drug Regulators
Event Description: Pharmacogenomics is the study of how people respond differently to drugs due to their genetic makeup and expression of genes. It is the foundation of knowledge that will allow the tailoring of drug treatments for different individuals or sub-populations. Increasingly, drug labels are incorporating pharmacogenomic (PGx) information, and medical devices are being developed based on PGx principles.
In this 11 series course, you will learn the terminology, methodologies and databases that are being used and the immense possibilities opening up in this field. This knowledge will help you conduct more effective regulatory assessments of pharmaceuticals, diagnostic tests, and risk management plans.
