Advertisements & Sales Promotion Control

The objectives of advertisement controls for health and medicinal products is to ensure that accurate and factual information about the products is disseminated and to ensure that the advertisements and sales promotion activities do not mislead consumers or induce unnecessary purchase or consumption of the products.

The advertisements and sales promotion of therapeutic products (TP) are controlled under the Health Products Act (HPA) and its subsidiary legislation, the Health Products (Advertisement of Therapeutic Products) Regulations. Advertisements and sales promotions of medicinal products remains under the control of the Medicines Act and its subsidiary legislation, the Medicines (Medical Advertisements) Regulations.
