Established in 2001, HSA is a multidisciplinary scientific and regulatory agency that serves three key functions to protect and advance national health and safety. We are the national regulator for drugs, innovative therapeutics, medical devices and health-related products, ensuring they are well-regulated to high standards of safety, quality and efficacy. As the national blood service, we secure the nation’s blood supply by ensuring a safe and adequate blood supply for public and private hospitals. We also provide the national expertise in forensic medicine, forensic science and analytical chemistry testing to serve the administration of justice and safeguard public health.
Through our extensive network of partners and our dedicated and professional staff, we have grown in stature - both at home and abroad - as a science-based and science-led agency. By advancing our thought leadership and research capabilities over the years, we have explored new frontiers in our areas of expertise, participating actively in many global, regional and local networks and initiatives.
Our world today has grown even more volatile and unpredictable. As we navigate the challenges in our second decade with the highest scientific, professional and ethical standards, we will always remain true to our core values.
