On 25 February 2021, the Health Sciences Authority approved the new storage condition for the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine at standard freezer temperature (-20°C) for up to 2 weeks. This followed our review of the application and supplemental data submitted by Pfizer to substantiate this new condition. The new storage condition allows the vaccines to be transported and stored under more flexible conditions.
The authorised long-term storage remains at -70°C and temporary storage after thawing at 2-8°C for up to 5 days. The Singapore prescribers factsheet has been updated to reflect the new storage condition.
