A Dear Healthcare Professional Letter has been issued by Medtronic International Ltd to reaffirm the importance of maintaining frequent and timely follow-up interrogation schedules with patients implanted with the Medtronic INSYNC III Protect 7285 Dual Chamber CRT-D. Medtronic is issuing this letter because of recent explants that took place in Singapore due to suspected premature battery depletion. However, Medtronic’s device analyses revealed that most devices met their expected longevity and a product design or quality issue was not identified. Medtronic advised healthcare professionals to perform patient follow-up and device interrogation in accordance with its product labelling. Healthcare professionals are advised to refer to the letter for details.
Only abstracts of the Dear Healthcare Professional Letters (DHCPL) are provided on this website. Details of these letters can be found in the MOH Alert System, which is accessible via the Health Professionals Portal (HPP), a one-stop portal for all healthcare professionals in Singapore.
