Alcon Pte Ltd would like to inform healthcare professionals of a global discontinuation of the market access of the Alcon AcrySof® Cachet™ Phakic Intraocular Lens. The voluntarily discontinuation is due to clinical data analysis that indicates an increase in the number of cases of endothelial cell loss among patients with severe myopia. None of the patients with lens explants experienced permanent vision loss. Healthcare professionals are advised to continue monitoring and adhere to the evaluation requirements as outlined in the current Direction for Use for patients implanted with the affected Cachet™ Phakic Intraocular Lens. Healthcare professionals are advised to refer to the letter for details.
