HSA Seized $90,000 Worth of Illegal Sexual Enhancement Medicines in Sims Drive Residential Unit

On 20 January 2021, the Health Sciences Authority (HSA) seized about 62,000 units of illegal sexual enhancement medicines (SEMs) during an operation at Sims Drive. The approximate street value of the seized items was over $90,000. Please refer to Annex A of the pdf version for photographs of the illegal SEMs seized.
2 HSA conducted the operation, supported by the Singapore Police Force, after receiving information that six packages from overseas, believed to contain SEMs, would be delivered to a recipient in Singapore. The intended recipient, a 23-year old Chinese male was apprehended at a residential unit at Sims Drive. During the operation, more illegal SEMs were uncovered inside the unit. He is currently assisting HSA with investigations for importing and supplying illegal health products.
3 HSA takes a serious stance against illegal activities that would harm public health. The SEMs may contain undeclared medicinal ingredients which can cause harm to persons who consume them. We will take strong enforcement actions against those who engage in the sale and supply of health products containing undeclared medicinal ingredients. Anyone who imports and/or supplies illegal health products is liable to prosecution and if convicted, may be imprisoned for up to 3 years and/or fined up to $100,000.
4 HSA would like to reiterate the dangers of purchasing health products from dubious sources such as street peddlers. These products may be illegal, counterfeit or substandard, and may contain undeclared, potent ingredients which can potentially cause serious adverse reactions when consumed.
