HSA commemorated Singapore's 46th National Day and its 10th Anniversary by raising $15,530 in funds for needy senior citizens from Lions Befrienders Service Association (Singapore). Under HSA's ‘Project Helping Hands', HSA staff were encouraged to make donations towards a Charity Walk-A-Jog between 28th July to 4th August, 2011. All donations will go directly to our charity partner, Lions Befrienders Service Association (Singapore).
2 20 seniors from Lions Befrienders joined about 150 HSA staff at HSA‘s National Day Observance Ceremony cum 10th Anniversary Charity Walk-A-Jog on 8th August, 2011. The cheque for the amount was presented to Mr Eric Cheong, Manager of Communications and Partnerships for Lions Befrienders Service Association (Singapore) and it was an opportunity for HSA staff to interact with these seniors.
3 “We are most encouraged by the generosity shown by our staff in contributing to help improve the well-being of seniors from Lions Befrienders” said Dr John Lim, CEO of HSA, “It's a meaningful way for us to give back to society during our nation's birthday, and also to celebrate HSA's 10th Anniversary as we continue to protect and advance national health and safety in Singapore.”
4 “The amount raised brought us closer to the target of equipping 1000 seniors' homes with motion sensing devices that would enable them to live more confidently,” said Mr Eric Cheong from Lion Befrienders.
