SOL Limited (Singapore Branch), a subsidiary of Merck & Co. Inc., would like to inform healthcare professionals of the market recall of alcohol prep pads manufactured by the Triad Group which are co-packaged with MSD products PegIntron® (peginterferon alfa-2b) and INTRON A® (interferon alfa-2). The recall was initiated due to potential contamination of the prep pads with the bacteria, Bacillus cereus. Healthcare professionals are advised to discard the alcohol prep pads found in the medicine package of PegIntron® single dose REDIPEN®, PegIntron® vials, INTRON A® multidose REDIPEN® and INTRON A® Solution vials and to inform their patients to do likewise.
