Interim update on batch 2367047 of Rovacor® tablets 20mg (lovastatin) (SIN 10531P)

Ranbaxy (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd., in consultation with the Health Sciences Authority (HSA) would like to alert healthcare professionals of the voluntary recall of Rovacor® Tablets 20mg (Batch number 2367047) due to a mix-up. The root cause of this mix-up is still under investigations by Ranbaxy and HSA. The affected batch has also been quarantined since 7 December 2012. Ranbaxy will also conduct visual inspections on replacement batches of tablets. In addition, it is recommended that healthcare professionals and dispensers also conduct a visual check on the replaced batches of Rovacor® tablets 20mg. Healthcare professionals will be updated on the investigation outcome once it is completed. Please refer to the letter for more details.
