Labeling updates notification for Medtronic Deep Brain Stimulation Therapy

Medtronic International Limited would like to inform healthcare professionals of an update to the labelling for Medtronic devices used in Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) Therapy. This update consists of additional warnings and adverse events that is intended to assist in patient management. Additional warnings include the risk of status dystonicus during ongoing or loss of DBS Therapy for dystonia, and the potential increase in seizure frequency or severity with cessation or reduction of stimulation during DBS therapy for epilepsy. Healthcare professionals are advised to be aware of the warnings and adverse events associated with DBS therapy covered in this notification. Please refer to the letter for details.
