The Health Sciences Authority (HSA) would like to alert healthcare professionals on defective McGRATH™ MAC video laryngoscopes which were designated for destruction, but were subsequently stolen and illegally offered for sale by unauthorised third parties through various overseas social media platforms. These stolen devices have not been detected to be sold online locally so far. However, due to the borderless nature of the internet and social media, healthcare professionals are advised to be aware of the possibility of these devices being sold locally online. These stolen devices did not meet quality standards established by Medtronic and should not be used as they may pose serious harm to patients.
Healthcare professionals are also advised to report any sale of suspected stolen McGRATH™ MAC video laryngoscopes to Medtronic and HSA, and any suspected adverse events associated with this device to HSA. Please refer to the letter for details.
Only abstracts of the Dear Healthcare Professional Letters (DHCPL) are provided on this website. Details of these letters can be found in the MOH Alert System, which is accessible via the Health Professionals Portal (HPP), a one-stop portal for all healthcare professionals in Singapore. Dentists, medical doctors and pharmacists may access HPP at https://hpp.moh.gov.sg and follow the procedures below to access the MOH Alert system.
