Product recall for Medtronic External Drainage and Monitoring System Kit (EDMS) Model 26040, Lot# 219694908, due to incorrectly labelled expiry date

A Dear Healthcare Professional Letter has been issued by Medtronic International Ltd to inform healthcare professionals of a voluntary recall of one lot of the Medtronic External Drainage and Monitoring System Kit (EDMS) due to an incorrect expiration date on one subassembly within the kit. The affected EDMS subassembly has been labelled incorrectly with a shelf life of 5 years instead of 3 years. No reports of injury have been received related to this issue, since the product is within expiry period at this time. Healthcare professionals are advised to return all unused affected devices to ensure that they would not be used past the correct expiry date. Please refer to the letter for details.
