A Dear Healthcare Professional Letter has been issued by B.Braun Singapore Pte Ltd to inform healthcare professionals of the recall of specific batches of Histoacryl® products due to incomplete polymerisation of the adhesive after application and lower adhesive forces than expected. The use of the defective products could potentially cause wound dehiscence, local infections, pain, irritation, inflammation, impaired aesthetic outcome, operating time extension and could need medical treatment or re-intervention using another closure device. Healthcare professionals are advised to immediately quarantine and return all the affected products. Healthcare professionals who have treated patients using the affected products are advised to continue to follow-up on these patients according to their standard of care. Please refer to the letter for details.
Only abstracts of the Dear Healthcare Professional Letters (DHCPL) are provided on this website. Details of these letters can be found in the MOH Alert System, which is accessible via the Health Professionals Portal (HPP), a one-stop portal for all healthcare professionals in Singapore.
