Covidien Pte Ltd would like to initiate the recall of the Covidien Endo GIA™ Articulating Loading Units due to the potential for missing sled component. Using a device with no sled will result in no deployment of staples and may lead to bleeding or leakage of luminal contents. Medtronic has received four reports of injury related to this issue. Healthcare professionals are advised to immediately discontinue, quarantine and return the affected unused units. Please refer to the letter for details.
