Recall of specific lots of Zimmer® Periarticular Distal Locking Plate system, Distal Lateral Fibula Locking Plate products (2357-017 and 2357-018 families)

A Dear Healthcare Professional Letter has been issued by Zimmer Biomet to initiate an urgent recall of specific lots of Distal Lateral Fibula Locking Plate products (2357-017 and 2357-018 families) in the Zimmer^® Periarticular Distal Locking Plate System (sterile and non-sterile). This recall is due to a possible thread form issue for the locking holes where the locking screws may not properly mate with the plate. Healthcare professionals are advised to identify, quarantine and return all affected lots to Zimmer Biomet. For affected devices which have been implanted, healthcare professionals are advised to monitor the patients based on existing follow-up schedules. Please refer to the letter for details.
