UCB would like to remind healthcare professionalsthat Neupro® (rotigotine) transdermal patch is a cold-chain product and should be stored in a refrigerator (at 2 to 8°C) at the pharmacy and by patients to ensure stability of the product. A crystalline form of the active ingredient (rotigotine), visible as a snowflake-like pattern in the matrix of the transdermal patch, may appear if the product is stored outside the refrigerator. Although in most instances this snowflake-like pattern has no effect on product performance, there is a theoretical possibility that clinical efficacy may be reduced.
