A Dear Healthcare Professional Letter has been issued by Nidek Singapore Pte Ltd to inform healthcare professionals that Nidek is suspending the use of preloaded Nex-Load System SP SZ-1 and Nex-Load System SP Clear SZ-1C intraocular lenses following reports of elevated intraocular pressure in patients implanted with these devices. A full investigation is currently ongoing to determine the root cause of these reports. Healthcare professionals are advised to quarantine and stop using the affected products. Healthcare professionals are also advised to provide appropriate follow up and treatment for patients who have been implanted with the affected products. Please refer to the letter for details.
