Smith & Nephew Orthopaedics Ltd (“Smith & Nephew”) would like to inform healthcare professionals of an update to the Instruction For Use of the BIRMINGHAM HIP™ Resurfacing system to include warnings of greater risk for early revision surgery for certain population sub-groups. Healthcare professionals are recommended to maintain their usual follow-up protocol for patients who have undergone hip replacement or resurfacing surgery. Please refer to the letter for details.
