A Dear Healthcare Professional Letter has been issued by Medtronic International Limited to inform users to update the Model A810 SynchroMed™ II Clinician Programmer Application, used with the CT900 Clinician Tablet Programmer, to version 1.1.342. Previous software versions 1.0.7493 and 1.1.300 do not resolve a specific pump memory error that can potentially inhibit the completion of a pump update command. When the pump memory error occurs, the patient will continue to receive therapy as previously programmed and alarms will sound when triggered. However, updates cannot be made to therapy until the error is resolved. This could result in patient requiring inpatient symptom management for excessive or inadequate therapy, or surgical replacement of pump. Medtronic has received three reports of incomplete pump programming update due to pump error, which were resolved with no patient harm. Healthcare professionals may contact their Medtronic representative who will be arranging for a software update visit or refer to the instructions appended in the letter to update the application. Please refer to the letter for details.
