Abbott Vascular would like to inform healthcare professionals of a change in the indications for all sizes of Absorb™ and Absorb GT1™ Bioresorbable Vascular Scaffold (BVS) Systems. The reference vessel diameters will be changed from ≥ 2.0 mm and ≤ 3.8 mm to ≥ 2.5 mm and ≤ 3.75 mm. This update to the indications is meant to align global indications of both devices. Healthcare professionals are reminded to follow the Instructions For Use when using the devices, including ensuring vessel sizes follow the new reference diameters, and to note the key supplemental instructions outlined in this letter to facilitate optimal clinical outcomes and reduce adverse events such as restenosis and thrombosis. Please refer to the letter for details
