Voluntary recall of selected batches of Sanofi Pasteur Vi polysaccharide typhoid vaccine, Typhim Vi® with potentially low antigen content

Sanofi Pasteur would like to notify healthcare professionals that they have recalled batches E1246-2, H0078-5, H0101-2 and G0461-2 of Vi polysaccharide typhoid vaccine (Typhim Vi^®) as they have potentially lower than expected antigen content. This is due to heterogeneity at the end of the filling process of syringes and 20-dose vials. Healthcare professionals are advised that there is no safety concern to individuals who have received the affected batch of Typhim Vi^® and Sanofi Pasteur does not recommend revaccination earlier than otherwise indicated for these individuals. Typhim Vi^® vaccines from batches not affected by the recall can be administered. Please refer to the letter for more details.
