Special Access Routes (SAR)
In specific situations, we may allow the import or the supply of therapeutic products via Special Access Routes (SAR).
Import and supply of unregistered therapeutic products for patient's use
Hospitals, clinics or nursing homes need approval from us before importing unregistered therapeutic products for patients' use.
Special consignment by a product registrant
Product registrants need approval from us to bring in a consignment of a registered therapeutic product intended for another market to mitigate stock-out situations.
Import and supply of registered therapeutic product on consignment basis
Importers who are neither the registrants nor authorised by the registrant need an approval to import a registered drug.
Pandemic Special Access Route (PSAR) for Supply of Emergency Therapeutic Products
The interim authorisation enables regulatory agilities in responding to an emergency that may pose serious threats to the public, such as in the situation of a pandemic.
