Overview
Donating blood is a simple process. The entire process takes about 45 minutes for whole blood donation and up to 90 minutes for apheresis donation.

To get an idea of what to expect, refer to the following:
You can prepare for your donation by checking your eligibility, making an appointment, and getting enough rest and hydration.
On the day of donation, you'll need to register at the Bloodbank and complete a detailed health assessment before donating. Find out the steps in the process
Proper post-donation care will help in your recovery.
Donation safety
You will not catch diseases from blood donation. The Bloodbank staff observe strict hygiene protocols. The equipment used in blood collection (e.g. needles, swabs, gauze and tubing) are new, sterile, and discarded after one use.
