Dilantin Capsules 30mg (SIN06056P) and Dilantin Capsule 100mg (SIN09208P) (Phenytoin sodium capsules 30 mg and 100 mg) cap with child resistant closure mechanism potentially not engaged/secured on some bottles

Pfizer Private Ltd, would like to inform healthcare professionals that the Child Resistant Closure of the Dilantin capsule and tablet bottles from certain batches may not be engaged/secured. This may risk unintended opening by children. Healthcare professionals are advised to confirm that the Child Resistant Closure of the bottle is engaged and secured and hand tighten the cap, as needed, before dispensing to patients. Healthcare professionals are also advised to communicate this risk to their patients who are on Dilantin. In the event that patients cannot engage or secure the Child Resistant Closure, they should return the bottle to their pharmacy. Please refer to the letter for details.

Step 2: Click on the Restricted Content icon on the left panel of webpage and login via SingPass.

Step 3: Click on the MOH Alert icon under ‘Applications’ section
