When to cancel
You may cancel your tobacco import and wholesale licence if you do not wish to continue dealing in tobacco products.
You should submit your cancellation application at least one week before the expiry date of the licence.
Refer to tobacco control fees and turnaround time for more information.
You can get a refund for your tobacco import and wholesale licence fee only when both of the following conditions are fulfilled:
- The licence is valid for at least three full remaining months.
- You are cancelling the licence because:
- The licensee has passed away.
- The renewed licence has not taken effect.
Note: A $100 application fee is chargeable for the cancellation of a renewed licence before it comes into effect. You will need to provide the death certificate of the licensee in order to claim a refund.
