HSA Alerts on Fake HSA Instagram Accounts
The Health Sciences Authority (HSA) wishes to alert members of the public to fake HSA accounts on Instagram. These accounts bear the HSA name and display photos with HSA logos. HSA currently does not have an account on Instagram.
2 The first fake account, with the username “hsa_sg”, had asked users to tag them in photos of underage teenagers smoking and good health product recommendations. HSA had not and would not ask to be tagged in such photos and recommendations on Instagram. The other fake account was a private account with the username “hsa.gov.sg”. This account had not put up any posts yet.
3 Instagram has been informed and the fake accounts have been removed. HSA has also followed up with a police report.
4 Members of the public are advised to be alert and not click on any links or respond to accounts on Instagram claiming to be HSA.
