Erroneous residual longevity displayed by programmer (ORCHESTRA and ORCHESTRA PLUS models) for pacemakers REPLY, ESPRIT and FACIL

Sorin Group Asia Pte Ltd (Sorin) would like to provide healthcare professionals with important information related to the programmers ORCHESTRA and ORCHESTRA PLUS, and the pacemakers REPLY, ESPRIT AND FACIL. Sorin has identified that the pacemaker programmer (with software version prior to SmartView 2.40) may display incorrect information regarding the pacemaker's residual longevity. Specifically, the programmer may overestimate the time until the pacemaker should be replaced. The erroneous residual longevity indicator affects specific models of the REPLY, ESPRIT and FACIL pacemakers. The overall longevity of these devices is not impacted. Sorin has implemented a new programmer software version to address this issue. Healthcare professionals are advised to refer to the Dear Healthcare Professional Letter for more details.
