Incorrect low blood glucose results with Nipro Diagnostics TRUEresult Blood Glucose Test Strips

HSA would like to update healthcare professionals on the voluntary recall of specific lots of TRUEresult Blood Glucose Test Strips due to incorrect low glucose results. Nipro Asia Pte Ltd is initiating this recall as the product owner has become aware that the affected TRUEresult Blood Glucose Test Strips may give inaccurate results to diabetic patients, showing readings that are lower than their actual blood sugar levels. This could lead to patients failing to control and manage their actual blood glucose adequately due to the inaccurate reading. To date, HSA has not received any reports of such adverse events associated with the affected lots of the blood glucose test strips in Singapore. Healthcare professionals are advised to inform patients to discontinue the use of any affected test strips and to consider performing a re-test on patients if glucose monitoring had been performed using the affected test strips. Healthcare professionals are also advised to report any adverse events as a consequence of the inaccurate blood glucose results to HSA or Nipro Asia Pte Ltd. Please refer to the letter for details.

Step 2: Click on the Restricted Content icon on the left panel of the web page and log in via SingPass.

Step 3: Click on the MOH Alert icon under the ‘Applications’ section.

Step 4: Click on the Drug Alert tab to view the DHCPLs.
