Software update for EMBLEM™ Subcutaneous Implantable Cardioverter defibrillators (S-ICDs) Model A209 and A219

A Dear Healthcare Professional Letter has been issued by Boston Scientific Asia Pacific Pte Ltd to inform healthcare professionals that the software update for EMBLEM Subcutaneous Implantable Cardioverter defibrillators (S-ICDs) Model A209 and A219 is available. This is a follow-up to an earlier notification in December 2020, involving elevated likelihood for early replacement for EMBLEM S-ICDs Model A209 and A219 due to hydrogen-induced accelerated battery depletion. The software update will allow clinicians to identify EMBLEM S-ICDs exhibiting hydrogen-induced accelerated battery depletion sooner. Healthcare professionals are advised to confirm if Model 3300 LATITUDE Programmers have been supported with Model 3877 v1.03 application and to follow the advisory of the DHCPL. The follow-up recommendations for managing devices with the potential for hydrogen-induced accelerated depletion are unchanged. Please refer to the letter for details.
