Voluntary recall of LFIT V40 Tapers Vitallium Femoral Heads

Stryker Singapore Pte Ltd (‘Stryker’) would like to notify healthcare professionals of the recall of selected lots of LFIT V40 Tapers Vitallium Femoral Heads. The recall is initiated due to the potential failure of the assembly of the affected femoral heads with their corresponding V40 stem trunnion at the time of surgery. Potential hazards include joint stability, inflammatory response and revision surgery. Risk mitigation factors include using an alternate device of the same size and conducting a V40 femoral head trial. Healthcare professionals are advised to quarantine and return all affected devices to Stryker. Please refer to the letter for details.
