Phase 2 of Voluntary Notification of Health Supplements and Traditional Medicines
Dear stakeholders
The first phase of the voluntary notification initiative for Health Supplements (HS) and Traditional Medicines (TM) had commenced on 1 August 2022 with commonly purchased products such as vitamin and mineral supplements, and products at higher risk of adulteration such as those for weight loss, pain relief and male vitality enhancement. Since its launch, we have received positive participation. The Health Sciences Authority is pleased to announce that the second phase of this initiative will commence on 1 August 2023. It will include the following product types:
- Other health supplements and traditional medicines (e.g. probiotics, omega fatty acids, glucosamine, Echinacea supplements, herbal cough, cold and flu medicines, tonics, etc.)
- Medicated oils, balms and medicated plasters
Companies that participate in this initiative are required to provide HSA with the relevant documents to demonstrate that their products meet the necessary safety and quality standards and labelling requirements. Only products that are compliant with these standards will be published on the HSA database. For more information on the submission procedure and requirements of the voluntary notification, please refer here.
Please do not hesitate to contact us at HSA_CHP@hsa.gov.sg if you require further clarifications. Thank you.
